Templeton Middle School in Sussex, Wisconsin has a unit on fluid power. These pictures show two of the robotic arms built by the eighth grade class. The students were given a set of materials as constraints, and allowed to make the machines any way they wanted. They worked in groups of two, and had to lift a 4" long dowel from the top of a shelf and set it on the table. They were given one minute to move as many dowels as they could.
